5 Reasons Our Country Needs a Revival of Leadership
2. Accouintability, Authority, Responsibility, and reward! Leaders need to hold Accountability and Responsibility close, but they need authority to do so and a reward when they do! So often we are not given the right tools and often we don’t give them to others. Many a leader never took the skills they use at work or at home and used it them for the other. Leadership cannot be truly affective effective without these traits., In the long haul, it just will struggle to work all.
3. People are leaving their jobs at a sometimes-alarming rate. Why is this? I would like to take the next few minutes and share my thoughts after 40+ years in the office.
a. Stable and consistent leadership. I realize the Military is different, as are some professions, where this is just not something that is practiced. In Military circles, you get some new leadership every two years and the cross cross-training that dodoesn’t make this work well to grow existing and new leaders. I will say with respect, there are those jobs that perhaps men and women should be allowed to stay on the post a bit longer. I think this is practiced some but perhaps be done and still make people promotable. The Balance between Leadership and Management. I submit this great leader, learn how to do both. Please learn the power of delegation!
b. Leaving the job – They have found a company that has the right balance, a company that makes the family a part of the story, every job is not the “Manhattan” project.
c. Share the wealth, make sure people are recognized, and Making make winning fun, something all want to be a part of.
